We're supporting Staffies & Strays this year!

The Green Man pub in Wimborne is continuing its charity support in 2018 with local charity, Staffie & Stray Rescue (SSR).

Throughout the year, The Green Man will be supporting SSR, a family-run local dog rescue providing foster care and rehoming for hundreds of unwanted dogs or dogs in need. Established in 2014, the rescue provides information and guidance as well as fostering and helping dogs needing rescue.

The Green Man and SSR will be running events throughout the year including car washes, dog walks and coffee mornings.

Kat and Scott, tenants at The Green Man said, “As dog lovers, we are always keen to help local animal charities, especially small, family-run organisations like SSR who don’t receive any formal funding. There are so many unwanted dogs and we’re happy we can play our part in raising much-needed funds.”

SSR founder, Calli Byrnes said, “We’re really pleased to have the support of the Green Man. Staffies in particular have a hard time in the press, usually unfairly. As well as rescuing as many as possible, we also aim to educate and inform people about this wonderful breed.”
